Exit 42. Obviously the exit with all the answers. ...not an exit we took.

Let's start off by saying that... 10 hour car ride? Not... easy... to do... @_@ After a while we just started taking whacked pictures of each other in the car. XD And of some things outside of the car.

And of course, dying of laughter. My sister shot these with her Iphone. XD

New York. Goes on. Forever. We were getting very, very bored. >> And tired. And... tired... I did love the Catskill's though. And I've decided that when the time comes, and I'm a famous writer with a lot of money, I SHALL LIVE THERE. MWAHAHA! ...or not, but it'd be nice to vacation there. Wery pretty.

Course, by the time we got through the Catskills, we'd encountered all the crappy weather that MA has been complaining about. Apparently this is like, the worst summer in 100 years. XD We got in, said hello to Maggie and Matt, ate chinese, and then played Munchkin.

Course, Marian and I were both braindead, but it was fun. Marian also doesn't do RPG's so she doesn't understand a lot of the jokes or rules. XD She got upset whenever her stuff was gone. I played an Elven Theif... then a Dwarven Cleric/Theif. B/c the cards change. Anyway. >> I'm good at being a theif, b/c backstabbing? Fun. Fun, easy to do, and frustrates other playeres. I was stuck at level 1 for... ever...

BUT. I ATTACKED MAGGIE WITH A GAZEBO.

Which, you know. :x Right. Anyway...

Time for Salem! Two words: Tourist. Trap. Really, srsly, totally. That's the pirate museum, which Marian had already been to, and we only parked by. >>

Oh, and posed with. B/c Marian and i pose with random statues. I'm not kidding. That is what most of this post will be.

Like this? This counts as a random statue.

Hot blond sister Marian. To answer your question... no, no one in my family is unsexy. :D XD;;; okay... um. Yeah.

Salem Memorial, one of the only things you really NEED to see if you go to Salem.

Instead of, you know, random cardboard cut outs of witches. >>

Or shops which sell *custom fangs*. I mean. Seriously?

One sign (pun intended) that Fandom has taken over my life. I was like 'NEED PICTURE OF PINEAPPLE'. We saw, actually, a lot of Pineapples on signs and things in New England. I have NO idea why. I was like 'well, in florigraphy they're supposed to be a sign of welcome...'

And yet still. Pineapples. New England. Why?

Lunch in Salem. BTW, if you are ever in Salem and need to eat GO THERE. The sign lies. The food was FABULOUS (we had lobster bisque, and split a lobster roll. They were *delicious*) and the Waitress was SWEET. ♥

On to Gloucester! Where... there was a gazebo. We saw teh Gloucester rock, but didn't really stop at any of the statues. It's like 'eh, they're statues'. Gloucester also smelled FABULOUS. Like, deliciously cooked fish. Poor Marian spent a lot of it looking  for a sweatshirt she could wear, or a sweater. She was cooooooooooooooold.

We were in this bookstore with all these stacked books. XD

This is either in Rockport, or Gloucester. It just entertained me.

You can see what a crappy day it was. :( But. We still had lots of fun.

Again, statues? And Marian and I?

THIS was definitly i nRockport. We really, really liked Rockport. it was cute, and yeah had a lot of hills, but was fun.

Keep a weather eye out! Storms ahead!

We picked up a DELICIOUS apple strudel from here for dessert, and then got a 'brick' from Rockin' Cupcakes. XD Matt made green curry, and it was a delicious dinner. (The best one we had at Matt and Maggie's to be honest. :x But we did eat out a lot...)

Matt has a helmut. Marian is not a happy knight.

Kind of looks like Monty Python, ni?

Cape Cod day! Our first stop is in Plymouth. The way Marian had been going on about how small the rock was I was expecting like... something about the size of a shoebox. According to some guy (tour guide maybe?) who overheard us it used to be bigger, but then people chipped away at it for souveniers. AND SO.

This thing was built to protect it.

Statues. Kind of a sad statue. I was impressed to hear that apparently some Native Americans gather on Thanksgiving for a Mourning day. ...it makes a lot of sense, you know.

As you can see, Cape Cod day was a LOT nicer. Still kind of chilly, but SUNNY at least.

These were being sold in one of the crap shops. (Marian has two names for shops in little towns. Shoppy Shops, where good things are sold, and Crap Shops where tourists buy... crap.) DISTURBING. DEAD SHARKS IN A JAR.

OH SQUALO SAY IT ISN'T SO.

We stopped in 'Sandwich' for lunch. >> Lunch was kind of blah. We went to this fried seafood place, and it all kind of tasted the same. And icky. >>;;

NOT LIKE AT KATE'S FRIED SEAFOOD AND ICECREAM. WHERE I AM SURE EVERYTHING WOULD BE DELICIOUS. ...IDK. We saw that and were like 'omg, it's my seafood joint'. XD We did a lot of 'omg need picture' *drives car in circle to get it*. MA drivers are NUTS... but so is Marian, so she fit right in.

Attacking Marian with the fried seafood places caller.

SOOOOOOOOOOO HUUUUUUUNGRY.

Le Beach!

Yummy goods, man. Yummy goods. And notions, they sell notions too.

We stopped at this one place filled with little shoppy-shops... and because we needed to use the bathroom. UNFORTUNATELY the public bathrooms were gross. (I didn't go in them, but since a litlte boy called them gross... and then Marian was like 'UGH'). The coffee place nearby didn't *have bathrooms*. In fact, we drove around looking for bathrooms and *not finding any*. O_O;;; WTH. Eventually we stopped at a Mobil gas station. Which HAD BATHROOMS.

One of the little shoppy shops had all this stone work inside. And for some reason, the courtard with the shoppy shops and fail coffee place had all these statues scattered around it.

(It's ALSLAN  OKAY?!)

This is at the beach in Provincetown. UNNNNNNNNNNCOMFORTABLE place to walk around with one's sister. BUT. Gayest town ever. XD There were a lot of families with little kids there... and a lot of scantily dressed men.

This is the cover for my Christian Rock album. We haven't quite figured out a band name or an album title. I'm thinking 'Forever Cherry' for the band name.

Red meets purple! Marian's feet look so much more awesome than mine XD

A windmill, to symbolize our quixotic quest for a bathroom.

DINNER. ...not seriously. That was what was on our table to appease our hunger, some sort of seafood dip and saltines.

It was okay, but, not great. THe FOOD was excellent though. I had lobster ravioli, which came with lobster covering it, and Marian had the Frutti de Mari, which had like, a TON OF SEAFOOD. Lobster and shrimp and mussels... (I like mussells, and oysters, and... basically just any seafood that I've had so far.)

Marian updating her facebook.

FRIDAY! And... FREEDOM TRAIL DAY! Funny how I manage to look less tourist like than Maggie, who is LIVING in Boston...

See? Maybe it's the bag choice. Or the clothing. Or... the giant sunglasses? IDK. Maggie looks like a tourist. Matt doesn't, not so much, and Marian tries very hard not to look touristy. XD Marian was wearing her new Wampum necklace (which she'd been wanting for 3 years XD and finally bought one) with her sundress.

We took the T!

I *like* the T. I realize this makes me a little weird. XD I was like 'I like the T! It's exciting!' and then my sister Maggie kind of went O_o at me, and I was like 'so this is what Scotty feels like'... But but but. >>;;; IDK. I like trains, and subways. They're *fun*. ANd when it's all dark outside the train, and there's screaching, and the train jolts and tumbles as it turns a corner.... :D It's FUN dammit.

*cough* Totally thought 'Pandora Hearts' man. I also thought that when we drove past 'Gilbert road'. So at least KHR isn't the ONLY thing sucking my brain.

Maggie tried to be our tourguide, which Marian and I didn't need. She got a little upset when we told her that. (And okay, we probably could have phrased it nicer... but Marian and I don't NEED tourguides. We kind of ... scoff? XD We're bad. And snarky. Also, we know a LOT of history already...

Maggie and Matt teased me for taking a pic of the headstone. When Mom was in she went MAD over the grave art... I just wanted this one skull and crossbones. I liked it dammit.

IDK. We just didn't get along that well that day. Look! Maggie has eyes that clearly say 'IMMA GONNA KILL THIS BITCH'.

I stil think my 'this is where they TOSS THE BODIES IN MWUHAHAHA' theory is more exciting than 'it's a vent for the subway'. Srsly Maggie, no imagination. :(

Site of the Boston Massacre. All we could think is 'yeah, and if that crowd of tourists gets any bigger, there's gonna be another one.' Srsly, all of them gathered in the middle of the road in BOSTON? Madness, not Sparta, Madness.

*_* So many cool looking buildings.

IT'S A ZOMBIE RAMP. ...we actually couldn't figure out why there was a ramp. We figure that section of the graveyard was newer, but there were stairs... it would be a little hard for someone in a wheel chair to get up into the graveyard anyway, it was up a hill, and the walkways weren't great... the wood was kind of rotted on the ramp too. SO. ZOMBIE RAMP. B/c the shambling hoards are crap at stairs.

Boston Harbor...

srsly, Maggie's gonna keel me.

There was a photoshoot going on, this girl in this tight, sexy, short dress, and this photographer, and some assistants. So...

Sexy time!

Matt... looks like an LLBean catalogue. If you squint. A lot.

They were all 'OMG ARE YOU GONNA FALL IN IF YOU DO THAT' and I was like '...no...' XD Srsly. I was perfectly braced.

Oh, and those are the Tall Ships in the background. They were in Boston this week end. Maggie and Matt wanted to see them... Marian and I weren't interested. Also, crowds. Marian and I Hate crowds.

Redheads unite!

Sister time! Either I've gotten better at posing, or my sister's are just bad at it. XD IDK

After that... it was time for Newbury street! (Yes, yes, fandom, my life...) We all ditched each other early on. Marian took Maggie and Matt to a bar, and I wandered around in vain looking for the Comics store. (All the way at the end dammit.) I also found a very 'me' shop. Chemistry! Filled with cute shirts, and hello kitty, and obnoxious purses. (I really liked the French Revolution one. :( IF ONLY I WAS NOT POOR.)

We were all !!!! and D< and so got on the T to head home. That's Josh Hartnet... or not really. It was Rush Hour on the T, so I was standing for a while, and at one point my hand got caught between the pole and his crotch. :x Aaaaaaaaaaaawkward. I got a seat eventually...

The thing he's got his hand pressed against? Broke, and was swinging at all the commuters, trying to smack them in the head. GO HOLD UP THAT DANGEROUS THING JOSH HARTNET GO! (He does look like it dammit.)

Dinner was at this... Grill? Place? IDK, the name is in my notes. It was EXPENSIVE but AMAZING TASTING. Marian and I split an appetizer and an entree (again, we did that often, iether sharing or splitting, b/c neither of us eats a ton). The appetizer was this tuna, avacado, something something DELICIOUS taco. (It came with two tacos, and plenty of raw tuna. MMM. IT was good.) The entree was this sesame shrimp and scallops thing. Marian was very !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

We had invited Marian's friend out to eat with us, b/c we were all ready to kill each other. (Well, Marian was, and prolly Maggie. I was getting to the point...)  He arrived pre-lubricated, and Marian, Maggie, and Matt drank with him. Marian was kind of drunk when she went to bed. She's not as bad as Drunk Tricia, who wants to talk about feelings, but... similiar.

The next day was Saturday! (obviously)

And MFA day! ...not so obvious.

We all... split up again. IDK, I like to explore Museums on my own, and so does Marian... Maggie and Matt apparently didn't last long in the museum. Maggie is apparently no longer really an Art Museum person, and Matt I don't think ever was. Which SUX b/c they had the free tickets! Mimi and I spent a good 4 hours in the museum. (We got there around 11, and I didn't leave until after 3...)

Just. Wow. The museum was HUGE.

Before they started drawing him emaciated, Jesus was kind of gay. Srsly. Just. Wow. XD These paintings...

Marian and I kept bumping into each other. We started off in Indian/East Asian art, then I worked my way upstairs to the Japanese, Chinese, and Korean galleries, and took some time in the Buddha room. I just. Wow. HUGE museum. (HUGE.) I was in Museum !!! I wish I'd realized you could take pictures before... (gay jesus came AFTER the asian art) b/c it was gorgeous. Just. Wow. Wow. Wow. Lots of amazing pottery, and I'd never really SEEN so much Korean pottery.

CELADON GREEN! IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE COLORS.

Also. Mummies. Their egyptian art? AMAZING. THEY HAVE. SO MUCH. STUFF. Not just mummies and caskets, but... whole ROOMS of stonework.

ANCIENT EGYPTIAN LOINCLOTH (and, all done from one skin, despite the fact that it looks like mesh!) They had the tomb of Hatsephsut's father!

I was kind of sick of wearing tennis shoes, so I wore my sandals. I'd worn them last night to walk around too... they're really not so bad for the first mile. The FIRST... but then again, I was doing a LOT of walking. >>;;; ow. :x My feet are still covered in blisters. BUT. It wasn't like I minded really. XD I got to show off my cute toes.

BABYLONIAN. THEY HAD BABYLONIAN ART WORK. They had a MINOAN MOSIAC. *_*

I would spend so much time at the MFA...

We had plans to meet up @ 7 at this Portuguese resturant in Cambridge. (And look! Finally some Tennis!) So, because I needed cool down time still... I went to the park. I'd MEANT to visit the Boston Public Library, but I didn't get off at the right stop...

Anyway, because the park was sunny and the day was warm, it was filled with half naked sunbathers. Which made my day betttttttttttttter. Mmm, half naked.

I sat around and read my book, and wrote notes on my day, and stuff, and just... people watched. There were a lot of French tourists in Boston, but also some British Indian's (I assume, they had that vaguely Indian accent to their British one) and a lot of ethnicities which looked vaguely middle eastern but the dialect was totally over my head. A few Chinese, and what sounded like Korean, tourists too. Lots of people wandering around in groups, lots of people out enjoying the sun. It was... nice. A nice break to my week.

Then! OFF TO PORTUGUESE! WHICH WAS AMAZING. MMM. Granted, I had to crack my lobster open... XD But everything else was easy to get to and easy to eat. Marian, Maggie, and Matt had no complaints.

And there was this Sumol drink that I got, which was delicious. I asked for one to take home (and I just drank it this morning. MMM. PASSION FRUIT FLAVORED SODA.)

Marian was so drunk and tired she passed out on the steps to Harvard. (Not... really. XD So dramatic though.)

WHAT A NICE POSE!

We weren't... entirely sure what this phallic monument is. But. Statue. Posing is a must.

Me on the T. I was all brightly colored that day. Cherry lipstick and red shirt. Though the color has faded. XD Marian keeps trying to get more pics of me, b/c I'm never IN pics.

COMPARITIVELY my face looks huge. There were also these people on theT who were like '...do you think they're...' which we couldn't figure out if they were asking if we were drunk or sisters. XD They were being quiet.

Marian and I are entertaining, both to ourselves, and to people around us.

Walden day!

I was kind of braindead, which was okay b/c it was our *last day*. And by braindead I mean it took me 3 tries to get dressed. First I put on a skirt, then Marian was like 'uh, Pond?' then I put on a long-sleeved t-shirt (thin, but black) and Marian was like 'uh, 80 degrees?) THEN I put on thick socks, and was like '...ugh, feet hot, changing socks.)

Marian did a much better job of it... though she wasn't dressed for Nadeck later. We wandered around Walden pond...

Though it's beauty was ruined by the fact that there were a TON of other people there... and people on bikes. I'm sorry, but the path? Barely big enough for two people to pass each other, much less allow someone on a BIKE to get past. Seriously people.

There was also a LOT of mud. Because of the rain the lake was SUPER high, and the low trail was washed out. There was a lot of mud on the high trail that required Marian and I to crawl around the edges to get past. There were also a lot of people who had found little places to get into the pond for a swim. Marian and I didn't see any awesome rocks to steal (though we looked.)

Irony, thy name is Capitalism.

Granted, the shop sold some nice stuff. Some used books, some Thoreau books, or his poems on tape. Huckleberry jam and stuff. (Huckleberry lollipops taste like grape, btw) Some t-shirts with Thoreau quotes, which were actually nifty. They chose good quotes for the shirts, and the right art/styling.

Still. Really. A shop?

Emerson's house. We did have to pull a U-ey to get to a good spot to take a pic, and had to wait for some cars to pass us by. Neither of us was interested i ngoing in. (We're cheeeeeeap.)

At the corner of ALCOTT and INDEPENDENCE. We snapped some pics of the LIttle Women house too. >> NOt... interested in going in.

We DID go up to Author's Ridge in the Sleepy Hollow cemetary, and while I would like to have explored some more... graves are graves, and Marian was tired. We wanted to get to Nadeck, and then back to Matt and Maggie's for dinner.

Sleepy Hollow Cemetary gate.

Dinner! The lobsters were bought from the supermarket and pre-steamed. They were... actually kind of sad when we ate them, not a lot of meat inside, and not all that great tasting. Kind of tough as well.

Matt taught me how to cook mussells... which weirded Marian out. Marian wasn't  too cool about eating something that she'd KNOWN was alive before she cooked it... and had all it's poop inside and everything. Like, you can't avoid a Mussel's waste, it's al in there with the mussel.

The problem with dinner was... I wasn't really all that hungry. Marian and I had a lunch which had been great and filled me up (and had a waiter boy who looked like Will Mosely) so I wasn't terribly hungry... and I was tired. I hadn't been sleeping well (strange place, and we all know I don't sleep well to begin with) apparently I'd been snoring, though Marian would cough and I'd roll onto my side  (though that didn't happen Saturday night, she had to comment on it to get me on my side). I'm pretty sure I snore usually (which doesn't help my sleep) . Anyway...

Also, Maggie and Matt cook with MSG. I realize that it wouldn't occur to them NOT to. I mean, hell, I'm the one with the MSG allergy (though Marian suffers from MSG as well, but only with her nose itching). I couldn't say to them 'look, your stuffing has MSG, and so does the broth you cooked the mussels in, I can't eat it without being in danger!'. It just seemed rude, they'd been trying so hard and all...

But yeah, it was a lousy last dinner. Though we ended the evening with Munchkin (where I won!).

The next day, Marian and I were up ass early... or, Marian's alarm went off, she turned it off, and crawled back into bed... and I got up, showered, and then she did. My family? Not morning people. I'm not either, but my relative cheerfullness seems to increase in conjunction with my companion's grumpiness. Plus, I was tired, and kind of punch drunk.

New York. Went on. For forever. >_< We started counting down mile markers as we exited MA, NY, and PA.

AND THEN FINALLY.

>_< Yeah. So. Exciting week, and I should head home from the library... Mom has gotten it into her fool head to paint the house. (WHY MOM WHY?) and so... I'll prolly spend a lot of this week hiding. I kind of want to go see HP tonight, but no one to go see it with, and I'm kind of still @_@.
