A Halloween fic for all of you!
I just had a rotten day, my friend cancelled on my plans and I’m feeling depressed…. So I needed to write something. It’s not the best of fics…
Author: Kitti-Chan
Pairing: Xander/Spike,
Disclaimer: I do not own anyone here!
Xander checked himself out in the mirror. He hated to sound like a narci… um… someone who loved themselves but he looked damn good. The fatigues were really awesome and when he picked up the gun, major hotness! However he was kinda pissed at Snyder for making them volunteer, and taking kids around at night just seemed like a bad idea. I mean, can you say ‘Dinner time!’ So Xander tucked a stake into his waistband, put holy water in his pocket and a cross around his neck.
Later that night when the change hit he was still Alexander Harris but he was a soldier he had lived in Sunnydale all his life and had run into the monsters. He was prepared, he knew what he faced and as he saw all the demons running around he silently wished he had a few grenades. “Xander!” Shouted a voice and Xander turned pointing his gun at a pretty red headed girl wearing a leather skirt and halter top. “It's me, Willow!” Xander’s eyebrows raise.
“I don't know any Willow.” Still the girl does look vaguely familiar and there’s a little voice in the back of his head screaming at him that she’s his best friend.
“Xander, quite messing around. This is no time for jokes.” The little spitfire doesn’t look pleased but Xander’s still trying to figure out the monsters running around and where the rest of his company is.
“What the hell's going on here?” He mutters to himself as he looks around again.
“You don't know me?” The redheads voice is quiet, quiet enough that Xander barely hears her question. Instead he takes his gun back and starts to walk past her.
“Lady, I suggest you find cover.” Then she’s in front of him telling him to wait and… Xander just walks right though her. Swinging around he brings his gun back up, he’s met ghosts and usually they aren’t friendly this one could be trying to get him to believe in anything she says. Still there’s that little voice in the back of his head and her explanation is reasonable so he goes along with it. Then the princess runs away and he’s heading out with someone who knows them and a girl dressed up like a cat in search of her before something catches his attentions a sound in the shadows.
Signaling he’ll go check it out he tells the others to keep going. “It’s probably just a civilian. Pretty sure the Lady would be screaming her head off.” He heads into the shadows cross pulled out to the outside of his shirt, gun at the ready but a deep yearning to pull out his stake. By then things are too late, a cold hand grabs him and pushes him face first against the wall of the alley. His gun and stake are taken and thrown away and another body presses against him, kicking his legs apart and holding his wrists above his head.
“Hello Pretty, didn’t expect to see you out tonight.” The voice has a cockney accent and causes shivers to run up and down Xander’s body. The voice in the back of his mind has gone silent, saying the word ‘spike’ before lapsing into stillness. “Thought you’d be off with Angelus and the slayer.” Xander just shivers, he is not going to answer the enemies questions. Then there’s a cold tongue laving at the juncture of his neck and he knows that this is a vampire behind him. He had considered it and was vaguely hoping that this wasn’t one of the kids possessed by their costumes so he could stake them. That would of course require having his stake. “Taste good precious. Think I like you all quiet like this. Much better then the babbling you usually do.” Then the mouth is back on his throat.
When Xander catches up with the others he helps them fend off a pirate from the princess and then they’re faced with Spike, the vampire he had already met. When anyone asked him why he looked so rumpled later or if that noise had been another kid in costume Xander changed the subject. There was no way he was going to tell anyone about giving it up to Spike in an alley. Especially since in the end the soldier had given into the vampires assault willingly.
