I'm glad my Film class comes in handy.
I have TCM running on the tv right? And it's showing all these horror movies b/c of Halloween right?
So earlier I watched 'Mr. Sardonicus' where it had this scene at the end where you 'held up your punishment cards' basically choosing whether you thought Mr. Sardonicus' should get off lightly or not. One of those gimics.
And now it's 'The Tingler' and it starts off with 'Director: William Castle' and I was like '...OH'. B/c I remember the talk of William Castle doing gimics. And in the beginning the movie opens up with William Castle telling us that some points of the film might give us a 'tingle' in our spine.
And then there's a section of the opening sequence when it buzzes, and the surround sound started to make things buzz.
Me: OH. He prolly put buzzers in the seats of the movie theater, well, some of the seats.
